I blame books. Reading how the love-strucken sucker describe their love as though they were god-sent? Mind boggling. How could I ever see someone that way? How could anyone see me in that light?
Those questions can be answered when I'm in a deeper mood on a rainy day. Instead of worrying about dying alone and never finding love, I use love to entertain me during boring and awkward situations. There really isn't any way to explain it to make it sound socially proper, so I'm not even going to try.
I like to watch a random stranger through the eyes of someone who's in love with them.
Kinda creepy in ways, I know. But really, it's sappy and funny. I promise.

Missed Connection at the Tanning Salon
You stood there, elbows rested on the counter, leaned in. You were wearing that gray.T-shirt, of course. I told you I hated it when you wore that filthy thing because you wore it so often. In reality, I loved you in that shirt. Your defined face was red, and your arms a blinding white; how is that even possible? But that's what I loved about you, you defyed the odds. People would think that how you wore your sunglasses inside made you look like a tool, but I know the truth. You want to hide from the world, you don't think anyone would understand. Oh how I wish you understood that I understand!
You turned and walked into your tanning room, giving me a nod and flashing you're bleached teeth. Oh, you.

ReplyDeleteI have too many of these.
Books are mean that way.

This writing inspired me, thanks.
